About

I was born and raised in a small town in Ohio. As a middle child I have always been a little more on the independent side. Right before my freshman year of High School began, I decided I wanted a job, so one day after cheerleading practice ended, I walked into town to a sporting goods store I frequented and applied, I have been working there ever since. It’s the small town feeling of knowing almost every customer’s name that has kept me there for so long.

I’ve always been one that has enjoyed meeting new people, so by my senior year of High School I was very much ready for college. Rather than attending High School my senior year I chose a PSEO program (post secondary enrollment option) where I took all of my classes at a community college, and gained college credit for them. I not only got to meet new people, but I also got a taste of what college courses were like. I was also that girl who knew what college they wanted to go to in the eighth grade, and that was Elon University.

The first time I visited Elon was in middle school when my brother was on his college search. The beautiful campus hooked me. When it came my time, I applied early decision to Elon, and only Elon. I found out on my birthday that I got accepted, best birthday present ever! Besides the beautiful campus, an even better perk was their School of Communications. I knew going into Elon that I wanted to pursue a degree in Broadcast. Halfway through my college career I realized that with my transferred credits from my senior year of High School, I could easily explore another major. I chose to double major with Corporate Communications. It has given me the tools to understand so many different aspects of the Communications world which has benefited me greatly.

In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, and cooking. I love an adventure which I think is why the broadcast business is so appealing to me because there’s always something new. It’s the breaking news that keeps it really exciting, and knowing that you could be helping a viewer that makes it worthwhile.
